Booking
Use of the Máirín de Valéra Carron Field Research Facility is open to the following groups:
- Students from Universities and colleges of education
- Researchers
- Local groups requiring meeting rooms
- Tour groups and visitors can also be accommodated
The Carron Research Facility must be booked through the Environmental Change Institute at NUI Galway. A charge of €10 per person per night for non-NUI Galway users will apply. In the case of undergraduate / post graduate students, a letter from their Head of Department should accompany the application. Visiting groups will be required to supply a letter on booking, confirming the existence of insurance against Public Liability risks relating to their activities. This letter must also confirm the extension of the insurance to indemnify NUI Galway for the period of the visit.
Residence is strictly confined to persons working on research projects or working under supervision. Persons under eighteen years of age will not be permitted for overnight stays.
